Apple TV GM Software Now Available

By Rich W Woods

Apple has been testing beta software for Apple TV since WWDC on June 2 which will give users continuity between devices. After all, Apple TV is an offshoot of iOS so an iOS update brings an Apple TV update.

They released the GM seed alongside iOS 8 GM and Xcode 6 GM  after announcing the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and Apple Watch.

How to Get Apple TV GM

First, you need to be enrolled in Apple’s iOS developer program which costs $99/year. Then, you need to register your Apple TV UDID with your developer profile.

Next, plug the Apple TV into your PC or Mac using a micro-USB cable. Then, plug the Apple TV into a power source.

The Apple TV will go into recovery mode. Hold Option on a Mac or Shift on a PC and click Restore Apple TV. Then navigate to the Apple TV GM installation file.

There were no release notes for Apple TV GM like there were for iOS 8 GM and Xcode 6 GM.
